Great List Of 30+ Free DNS Services To Access Blocked / Inaccessible Websites
Written by Pavan Kumar on September 25, 2008
I know, you people find this post useless for now. But it becomes the most hot topic in time of need. It is wise to follow this post right now and avoid googling in harsh times. Yesterday, I could not access any sites hosted on hyperwebenable servers. Of course, this site also included. But, the site was working very fine and fast using different proxy servers. The problem was because our servers were moved and it took time for BSNL and OpenDNS servers to update. One of the solution for this to access such sites is you need to use DNS servers. I am not discussing about any DNS hosting service, the key point in this post is a set of different DNS services which you may need when something goes wrong with your default DNS or when it is very slow.
What is DNS?
DNS stands for Domain Name System which is a hierarchical way of addressing resources like websites which are involved in internet. If you type http://www.techpavan.com in your browser, it asks for the DNS server where to access the website. The reply from server will contain the ip address where the exact resource is located.
Its enough with theory. Lets move on to the point of discussion here.
Sometimes, when the domains are moved or when your ISP restricts some servers, you will not be able to access the content available at that address. This is a collection of different DNS service IPs to use to access those resources.
You will need to change the DNS server settings in your TCP/IP configuration. Here is the list of different fast free DNS servers which can serve you the purpose. Follow our youtube unblocking tutorial to setup DNS server.
