After my cool sms, there has been a long gap we have dealt with such cool free sms services. My cool sms was not exactly cool, but it also supported fake sms without any verification. Here is one very good free sms service which does require a registration and hence you cannot think of abusing the system.

Mjoy is the online tool which is under discussion. This service is powered by adverts and hence is completely free. To make use of this service, you need to register to the site with your mobile phone. This is only for those who have cell phones as you can only sign up and login on your mobiles. GPRS is also required for using this service.

Coming on to special features, there is no limit for the characters you type. Usual sms services provide you with somewhere around 80-140 characters. The interface is such that the messages are stored similar to chat interface. With this, you can also backup contacts online. And hence the chances of losing your contacts is less as you have them saved online. They also claim to have a network which few may love to have. They also provide you with games and widgets.

Note: This is not for you if you don’t have a GPRS enabled mobile phone.

Supported Countries: Angola, Australia, België, China, Deutschland, España, France, India, Indonesia, Israel, Italia, Japan, Luxemburg, Nederland, Nigeria, Österreich, Philippines, Portugal, South Africa, Switzerland, Türkiye, United Kingdom, USA / Canada. Totally 180 countries supported.

Nice!!
But the sad part is that unlike other free SMS providers, this service requires GPRS activated handsets to work which is not possible atleast with my service provider [Reliance CDMA]

You dont necessarily need to have a GPRS enabled phone to use mJoy.. There is a way around this.. You can use the Opera Simulator (http://www.opera.com/mini/demo/) to send messages through mJoy and it works 100%.. I have been using this for ages.. Hope this helps.. Good Luck!

Yes, I know there are few emulators available online as well as desktop softwares. Even I know that, but it is not so cool, if it is desperately needed, you can use them. Good comment

Pavan, My-cool-sms is no more free. It started registration and payment mode from January 1st 2009.
That was really awesome. Hope, mjoy too brings joy in my life.

Who says you need to have GPRS phone only to use this service?
I could do it right from my desktop. From Registration to SMS Sending, NO phone is needed.
NO emulator or Opera simulator is needed.
Just use opera 10 and it just works fine.

@Pavan Kumar – Pavan, Service is awesome and site too loads fast. Only thing I didnt like is the text at the end of message saying “Free sms by mjoy.com”
SMS delivery is instant and overall reliable service.

I did not know this thing about opera, that would be great if it is possible. I support their footer about their service. They are not a charitable trust to give you everything for free. Like any other company they want to dominate in their field, so let the footer be, but to maintain reliability is important.

not really sure if this is where i need to be…iv been having trouble with my mobile….ppl claiming i have txt them n iv received txts off friends who claim they havent sent them…but when replying it goes to me or them….n shows up with there numbers…is this possbile to do if me or them havent sent them…can you do this off the internet where when you reply it goes to the sending numbers phone?

I would appriciate any help
