Mr. Shane has created a wonderful video tutorial to install wordpress locally on desktop. The video demonstrate step by step procedure to install WordPress on Windows. Few days back the same has been discussed here and few guys have made a right advantage of that and few others shared different ways they use to achieve the same. I would like to embed the video Shane has created which is using exactly the same method I discussed few days back. This will definitely help those who failed to follow my tutorial. Shane, thanks for sharing.

The video is outdated with WordPress 2.8 and initially caused some difficulty and additional frustrations yesterday. However, following the link to your step by step and proceeding there did allow me to finally install. I acknowledged that on that page and thanked you since I have tried several other “step-by-steps” and could not accomplish the goal. One thing about the video as versus the step-by-step is the sequence of installing Word Press. Here installing WordPress is after creating the database, there it is before creating the database. Installing WordPress before creating the database made the search through Firewall permissions unneeded when you use your suggested addresses.
